About Us

Kalimpong District Tourism Welfare Society is a registered,Non-Profit society under West Bengal Societies Act bearing registration number- S0050056 Of 2024-2025. This society is formed with an aim to create a platform for the stake holders related to tourism industry in entire Kalimpong district right from Kalimpong town to far fledge remote areas like Todey Tangta in the Bhutan border, Mulkharga in the Neora Reserve and such other places.
The organizations who have been working in various pockets of Kalimpong district for the welfare of Tourism industry and Homestay stake holders have come forward to share vision and collaborate with Kalimpong District Tourism Welfare Society.

 To work for the welfare of stake holders involved in the Tourism sector in Kalimpong district.
 To liaison with the competent authorities such as Regional(GTA), State and Central governments for various issues related to Tourism industry.
 To encourage and promote local entrepreneurs by working as a check and balance to indiscriminate and unethical methods practiced in Tourism industry. Also to safeguard them from frauds who have been so far cheating our local people.
 To promote our place with a host of local experiences, culture, history, food, heritage, local festivals and events.
 To equip local people in Home stay business by organizing seminars, workshops and trainings.
 KTDWS could in collaboration with the local pocket associations organize Himalayan Fests, Tourism Fests and other events to promote Kalimpong in a better way.
 KTDWS also seeks to create a platform where business can be done amongst us. We could promote one another and create feasible and beautiful tourism circuits.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR? :

 We have already registered ourselves as a Society under the West Bengal Society Registration Act to make it an organization recognizable by the local, state and national administrative officials as well as the Government. We have also applied and received our PAN card. We have equipped ourselves with all legal documents.
 Shared our vision with other organizations/ associations so that we could collaborate and work together in days to come to safeguard the interest of the local place and people.
  Create awareness and garnered membership at different pockets.

FUTURE PLAN OF ACTION:

 Create/ construct a conducive environment by implementing on our objectives mentioned above so that local entrepreneurs benefit the most.
 Create platform amongst stake holders to do a better, promising and sincere business.
 To promote and encourage sustainable Tourism.
